Historical culture trip - Beijing

ended my 8 days trip in beijing , everything round up smoothly except for a little imperfect part on day one which is a 5 hours waiting period + stop over at hong kong airport before we could continue proceed flying due to bad weather ( fog haze ) in beijing if not we would have not wasted the day as planned . In general , beijing is a large city and known for many best attractions too , we visited a few major attractions and also some small ones too . having the root of a pure chinese blood the only thing im quite guilty of was the lack of knowledge in china culture and history compared to the younger ones there cuz im puzzled at times where im totally ignorant of the things happening before =p but im certainly very impress and will for sure respect those people in ancient times who did up all the great constructions and miracles that lasted so long over the decades ..
As for food , the northern side of the people likes food that are slightly more oily and salty of cuz its unhealthy and we are not so used too but in singapore we are lucky enough to get supplies of seafood ( which has salts and minerals ) easily as for them its the reverse therefore they hardly have seafoods in their daily meals plus due to the dry weather in the winter they need to take even more salts and minerals compared to us .
In singapore , fireworks are totally banned but in beijing everyone are allowed to put at the roadsides , their own premises or even anywher as longs its safe ( onlyduring new year period ) and of cuz i tried .. its so fun !! they have so many varieties too... ! in summary ... i really had fun and enrich + its an enlightenment & eye opener for me , never expect that i will but most important is my parents had enjoyed cuz this trip is specially planned for them .. really hope so =)
