2008 sichuan earthquake

For those who are concern ,
this might interest you .. in the early part of the year 2008 china had went thru the worst snow storms ever resulting deaths , missings and huge damage to their economic losses . however not long after the recovery which i'm sure most of you had read in the papers lately , a massive earthquake of 7.9 magnitude hit hard on western china ( 12 may 2008 ) causing a death toll of 20 000 , 25 000 still buried in rubble to date and it's expected to rise ... can you truly imagine the pain coming right from the direct families in the disaster ..

meanwhile i also found something very interesting while reading upon the news ..

this picture was taken by some sichuan natives before the earthquake occurs
maybe it's animals/amphibians instinct ? a sign ?or an omen ?

nevertheless ..

The tragedy caused by the earthquake is another serious challenge to the whole of China again.
we are so fortunate and lucky to stay in this safe small country here ..
let's all express our deep sympathy and heartfelt condolences to all the victims in this devastating earthquake and pray that they will be able to overcome all in time and the strength in eliminating the consequences of this disaster .

thumbs up for showing the sympathy and praying for the victims... anyway i think what they need more from us is material support like donation, at least the NGO would have enough money to buy the medicines and food for them...

=( with regards to this Im really pretty dumbfounded over it. I did some read-up on this quake n discovered e photo that u've posted, I've seen it before too. I also realised, on 7 may itself, a geologist actually posted his/her findings into an authorized sector's forum predicting that an earthquake would occur and wanting to highlight this to higher authority but to no avail. I doubt it could be fake as there's a photo of forum msg to substantiate it.

It's really kinda sad as I think this is e 2nd time, similar mistake was committed (first round was in 1976, Tangshan China). 30 years later, prediction being dispelled as rumour too, and nothing was being done or follow-up, neither any evacuation. Thus, this unexpected tragedy.

It's really kinda wrenching to see all those photos of aftermath earthquake. =|

I think the cyclone in myammar is pretty heart-rendering as well, so much deaths had accumulated 'cos of the disater. (so random, haha.)
On a side note, I just started baking cookies with my new oven. -.- haha. but not as appealing as yours. sigh. haha.

My friend from china told me that the thing you see in the picture, it happens when there's some kind of event going to happen, and they're even educated about it. It seemed that some scientist attributed that happenings to some biological reaction due to the manmade environment.

in a way i feel tat it's a cycle kinda thing...
the Earth is coming back at us with how we've been treating it over the years...
wasting of food, water and other valuable natural resources..resulting in increased carbon dioxide, global warming and such..
so everything's coming back to haunt us...deadlier cyclones(myanmar) and even earthquakes..although not tat directly connected..
but i still feel somehow it's the Earth way in revenging...
kinda teaching us..Start loving our planet...and be Green...but of cos..most imptly now is to save the victims and provide for them...and i hope more pple survives tis quake..and hopefully also, the aftershocks stop..

sometimes it is just the nature's way of reducing the human population on the earth to conserve its life span... recently, i have been thinking through some stuffs. Last time there was this baby booming period now it is just stagnant and also the homo population is increasing. Perhaps this is just part of evolution. Maybe one day most people dies again and baby booming period starts again. I guess we are merely tools of nature's way of doing things.
