" what sun has spun that perfect shaded morning
that tender taste of sweet cradling in my tongue
And nothing but my memories and elements of you " ..
i always thought preparing a lovely hearty breakfast for your love ones first thing in the morning when he or she wakes up is the sweetest thing alive but too bad i'm doing it for myself today .. oh well , does it really matter ? no right ! haha .. in fact i often skip my breakfast due to my work .. and since today i'm in the mood of whipping up something , i found another reason to start work late again =P
and who said breakfast had to be predictable? Just because you’re in the mood for breakfast ingredients such as
bacon and
eggs doesn’t mean that they should be served in the classic manner. but to me bacon and egg is always an item .. it's a perfect marriage .. just like macaroni and cheese , peanut butter and jelly etc ... so let's check out my new creation for the day =)
ingredientsflour
03 eggs
butter
salt
sugar
black peppercorn / pepper
basil leaves
parsley leaves
olive oil
streaky bacons
cherry tomatoes
to kick off ..
To make the tart crust ..
In a large bowl , combine
butter , eggs , flour , sugar , salt and mix thoroughly .. gather the dough into a ball , if dough is too crumbly , add some
ice water by drops until the particles adhere . dust the pastry dough with a little flour . Refrigerate for at least
half hour before baking ..
next ... Center the dough in the tart pan, if necessary, trim the excess dough, then pinch the edges of the dough flat with the edge of the tart pan.
as i will be baking this as unfilled crust, use a fork to puncture the doughs in all areas, so it doesn't puff up while cooking.
lightly grease the tart pan before placing the dough ..
preheat the oven to 180 degree to 200 degree and bake for
20 - 25 minsonce baked , leave it to cool for about
10 minsmeanwhile fry the
bacon until golden brown ( fry without oil as bacon will produce oil itself )
as for
scrambled eggs .. lightly whisk the
eggs , a pinch of
salt ,
basil leaves ,
black pepper / peppercorn together until the ingredients are combined and the mixture has one consistency .
heat a small non stick frying pan for a min or so .. then add
butter and melt , pour the egg mixture and stir with wooden spoon , lifting and folding over from the bottom of the pan . repeat until the eggs are softly set and slightly runny in place , then remove from the heat and leave for a few seconds to finish cooking . give a final stir and serve the velvety scramble with delay .
lastly , my favorite part again ..
presentation ! ... place the
tart in the middle of the plate follow by the
scramble eggs and
streaky bacon ... sprinkle some
olive oil with
cherry tomatoes and
parsley leaves to garnish ..
and here i am with my new creation
today !
streaky bacon egg tart
This ultimate savory dish is perfect for breakfast and brunch .. ^^
